About YUHA

Our Vision

The Yale Undergraduate Hedge Fund Association (YUHA) is Yale’s premier student-run organization dedicated to bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world investing.

Founded to foster an intellectually rigorous and inclusive investing community, YUHA brings together undergraduates passionate about hedge funds, public markets, and alternative investments. Through a structured curriculum, members explore portfolio construction, behavioral finance, and risk management before applying these concepts in hands-on simulations and sector-specific teams.

YUHA hosts a robust speaker series featuring leading investors, fund managers, and Yale alumni, and partners on live projects with hedge funds managing over $4.5 billion AUM. Members also participate in national stock-pitch competitions, internal portfolio challenges, and collaborative research initiatives that mirror professional investment workflows.

Sterling Library

More than just a finance club, YUHA serves as a launchpad for students to build market intuition, technical skill, and a lifelong network of peers and mentors who are shaping the future of global investing.

Investment Teams

Investment teams form the core of YUHA’s operations. Each investment team is led by an experienced group head who leads discussions about financial strategy, provides technical training, and facilitates weekly stock pitches to other team members.

For the 2025-2026 academic year, YUHA has four investment teams.

GLOBAL MACRO

The Global Macro team studies how nations move capital, set policy, and manage risk. Members analyze inflation cycles, interest rate shifts, and geopolitical dynamics to form high-conviction views on global market trends.

The Event-Driven team focuses on moments of corporate change such as mergers, spin-offs, and restructurings. Members learn to anticipate catalysts and uncover value where timing and strategy converge.

EVENT-DRIVEN
LONG/SHORT

The Long/Short team builds differentiated perspectives on companies through rigorous fundamental research and valuation analysis. Members learn to identify long-term winners and short opportunities in competitive markets.

The Distressed Debt team explores situations where volatility creates value. Members study balance sheets, capital structures, and recovery scenarios to identify mispriced credit and turnaround opportunities.
